Umbilical Cord Care is Very Easy
So Don't Worry

Many people worry about umbilical cord care when changing their newborn's diaper the first few times. After a bath or when changing your baby's diaper, some pediatricians recommend gently wiping the cord or belly button area with a cotton ball soaked in alchohol. Other pediatricians recommend doing absolutely nothing.

Personally, I did nothing. I felt that if it was starting to fall off or pull away and there was a little cut, I worried that the alchohol would burn and hurt my baby.

I don't recall knowing any friends or family members that used alchohol on the cord area or have never heard of the it falling off any faster because of the use of alchohol.

I would just have patience and leave it alone. It will fall of before you know it.
